HYPERSPIM at the ‘Emerging Directions in Optical Computing and Information Processing’ Conference

Professor Claudio Conti delivered a compelling talk at the virtual conference Emerging Directions in Optical Computing and Information Processing on June 27.

His presentation, titled “Spatial Ising Machines and High‑Dimensional Computing,” showcased groundbreaking work on optical Ising machines—a fascinating convergence of complexity science, machine learning, nonlinear optics, and photonics. He also presented key developments from the HYPERSPIM project.

The event brought together leading experts in photonic computing—from analog optical neural networks and transformers to metasurfaces and compute‑in‑memory systems—highlighting the immense potential of light‑based platforms for next‑generation data processing.
